Prajwal Revanna Arrested: Prajwal Revanna, accused of sexually exploiting several women in Karnataka, has finally landed in police custody. The news of the suspended JDS leader and current MP returning to India was in the headlines for the last 24 hours.
The police was also on alert. As soon as the Germany-Bangalore flight landed at Kempegowda International Airport in the early hours of Friday, SIT caught Revanna from there. Revanna's porn video going viral in the middle of the Lok Sabha elections created a stir not only in Karnataka but in the political corridors of the entire country. This was the first time when the reputation of a former Prime Minister's influential political family was tarnished.
No expression on his face, turned his face away as soon as he saw the camera
33-year-old Revanna had an idea that he would be arrested as soon as he returned to the country. In such a situation, he had booked an early morning flight to avoid the media. There was no sign of worry on Revanna's face this morning.
His body language was absolutely normal. After his crimes were exposed, his face had definitely turned pale. After sitting in the SIT's car, as soon as he saw the media cameras, he turned his face away. He did not answer any question.
Baba had said 'Come to India, surrender, or else...'
Former Prime Minister and JDS chief HD Devegowda has given a stern warning to his grandson Prajwal Revanna. He said that if found guilty, he should be given the harshest punishment under the law. Devegowda had written a public letter on this matter.
HD Devegowda wrote in that letter, 'On May 18, I had spoken to the media about Prajwal Revanna, at that time I was going to the temple to worship. It took me some time to recover from the shock and pain that Prajwal has caused to me, my entire family, my colleagues, friends and myself. I have already said that if found guilty, he should be given the harshest punishment under the law.'
Deve Gowda also said, 'I can give a stern warning to Prajwal and tell him to return from wherever he is and surrender to the police. He should subject himself to the legal process. If he does not heed this warning, he will have to face the wrath of me and all the members of his family.'
Heavy force was deployed
A large number of policemen were deployed at the airport so that there is no hindrance in his arrest. CISF personnel took him into custody and handed him over to the SIT of Karnataka Police.
Sources said that after completing the formalities, the SIT took him into custody and took him to the police station. Prajwal had issued a video statement and promised that he would appear before the SIT on May 31.
Revanna, who was absconding for a month, was on Interpol's radar
Former Prime Minister HD Devegowda's grandson Prajwal Revanna was accused of sexually abusing several women. 33-year-old Revanna left India on April 27, just a day after voting in his parliamentary constituency.
After the SIT's request through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Interpol had issued a 'Blue Corner Notice' seeking information about Prajwal's whereabouts several days ago.
The Congress government of Karnataka was constantly cornering the JDU on this issue. Even during the voting, the allegations of sexual abuse against Revanna remained in the headlines.
