Pakistan got angry on CAA, America also got upset, know what statement was given
Both Pakistan and America are angry over the implementation of CAA in India. Pakistan has even said that it will not tolerate exploitation of minorities in India, while America has said that it is worried about CAA.
CAA i.e. Citizenship Amendment Act has come into force in India on March 11. Opposition parties across the country are opposing it and mobilizing against the Modi government, while Pakistan and America are also enraged about it.
The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan and America have given statements and said that this law is against the rights of minorities in India. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has vented her anger on CAA in a press conference.
According to the news of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Baloch said that the CAA laws implemented in India are based on the misconception that minorities are being oppressed in Muslim countries and India is being considered a safe haven for minorities.
'Agenda being run for Hindu Rashtra'
Zahra said the National Assembly of Pakistan had passed a resolution on December 16, 2019, against the CAA, arguing that the law violates international norms of equality, non-discrimination and international human rights law.
Not only this, he also criticized the BJP government of India. Zahra did not stop here, she further said that this discriminatory step taken by India shows that a terrible agenda is being run to convert India into a Hindu nation.
Will monitor the implementation of CAA
Here America has also given a statement regarding CAA. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller issued a statement and said that he is concerned about the CAA notification. They will closely watch and monitor the implementation of this law.
We are closely monitoring how this Act will be implemented. Respect for religious freedom and equal treatment under the law for all communities is a fundamental democratic principle.
Let us tell you that apart from America, there were statements about CAA from the international community including human rights organizations like United Nations, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, in which they expressed concerns and apprehensions over it.
What is CAA?
Let us tell you that on March 11, the Government of India has implemented the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA) in the country. Due to which minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who came to India before December 31, 2014 will be given Indian citizenship.
These minorities include people from Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi communities. Along with this, the Government of India has issued a statement appealing to the Muslims of the country not to be afraid of this law. The government says that this law will cause no harm to the Muslims of India. Nor will there be any change in their rights.
