MBBS admission policy changed, Indian students will get direct admission after NEET
The Philippines government has changed the local medical education policy. After this, it will become easier for Indian students to get admission in the medical colleges there. Recent amendments to the Philippines Medical Act have been approved by the local House of Representatives. Which paves the way for all foreign students to register and practice medicine in the Philippines.
18 thousand Indian students are studying in Philippines
Now the Philippines government has passed a resolution to expand the entire medical education system to 5 years of medical study, 12 months of internship and allow all foreign students to sit for the local licensing examination for licensure. Before the notification was issued by the National Medical Commission India in November 2021,
admission in the Philippines was available after a 12 to 16 month Bachelor of Science course and passing the NMAT examination. But now with the new system, Indian students will not need to do NMAT exam and course after passing NEET exam. At present about 18 thousand Indian students are studying in the Philippines.
The main conditions of Indian National Medical Commission were MBBS course of 54 months and 12 months internship. Apart from this, a recommendation was also made to give Indian students registration in that country or license of that country. Only after this he can come to India and practice.
