Liquor becomes costlier in Lok Sabha elections 2024, candidates are sweating, know the new price on a bottle

Liquor price hike in cg: Liquor has become expensive in Chhattisgarh from today. On one hand, liquor lovers are shocked due to increase in cost of liquor before the elections, while on the other hand candidates are also losing their sweat. In fact, every time during elections, liquor is distributed extensively to woo the voters. In such a situation, due to increase in prices before the elections, the election expenses will increase further.

At present, the Excise Department has released new prices of domestic and foreign liquor. According to the order, the price of liquor has been increased under the new excise policy. Now in the state, the price of quarter has been increased by Rs 10 and that of bottle by Rs 40. Due to this increase, liquor lovers are now having extra burden on their pockets. Let us tell you that the department has increased the prices by calling it infrastructure tax.

There is crowd here from morning till evening
Maximum liquor is sold in Kharora of Raipur district. This is one of the highest revenue generating liquor shops compared to other cities. The identity of Kharora city is the rapid sale of liquor. In such a situation, people have got a huge shock due to the increase in prices. There is a crowd of music lovers here from morning till night. The news is not good for liquor lovers due to increase in prices. Now people will have to spend a little more money to drink alcohol.

The Excise Department said that the sale of liquor has started with excise duty from April 1. This provision has been made in the new excise policy. It is said that the excise duty of country liquor has not increased in the state for 7 years. Similarly, excise duty on foreign liquor has not increased for the last several years. This is the reason why increase in excise duty will have an adverse impact on the pockets of liquor lovers.

Many brands will be available in local liquor shops
Now liquor lovers will have access to liquor of their desired brand. The government has signed contracts with many branded liquor from April 1. According to departmental sources, the current rate is five times higher than the rates fixed for the compound about seven years ago during the previous tenure of the BJP government. Along with this, taking steps towards ending the syndicate of country liquor, contracts have been signed with five to ten new suppliers. With this, five to ten types of new brands will be available in local liquor shops instead of two.

Finance in-charge of Excise Department, Preeti Kushwaha said that the prices are going to increase from April 1. The old stock will be sold at the old rate only. As new stock arrives, liquor will be sold as per the sub-printed prices.
