There is not much time left for the Paris Olympics and Indian athletes have started preparations for it. Meanwhile, a big case of indiscipline has come to light. Commonwealth Games (CWG) gold medalist weightlifter Achinta Shiuli was caught entering the women's hostel at night. After which he has been thrown out of the camp and his dream of playing Olympics may also be shattered.

A camp was organized at NIS Patiala to prepare for the Paris Olympics. On Thursday night, Shiuli tried to enter the women's hostel quietly. But then the security personnel caught him and made his video. After which, taking action against Shiuli's actions, the Federation has thrown him out of the camp. "Such indiscipline will not be tolerated," an Indian Weightlifting Federation official told PTI. Achinta was asked to leave the camp immediately.

The video shot by the security personnel has been sent to NIS Patiala Executive Director Vineet Kumar and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) headquarters in Delhi. After this action of the Federation, Achinta will not be able to play the IWF World Cup in Phuket, Thailand this month, which was mandatory for Paris Olympic qualification.

Let us tell you that Achint had won the gold medal with a new record in the 73 kg weight category of men's weightlifting in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. Sheuli had lifted a record weight of 143 kg in snatch, while in clean and jerk he was successful in lifting 170 kg. Overall, he lifted a total weight of 313 kg, creating a Games record.

There are separate hostels for boys and girls in Patiala. Presently the female boxer, athlete and wrestler is in NIS Patiala. This is not the first case. The weightlifting federation had earlier also removed Commonwealth and Youth Olympic champion Jeremy Lalrinnunga from the national camp for indiscipline.
