ECI released new data on Electoral Bonds, know how much BJP-Congress-TMC earned

EC New Data on Electrol Bond: New data on election donations has been released by the Election Commission. After the order of the Supreme Court, now the data of electoral bonds purchased before April 2019 has been released.

 


EC New Data on Electrol Bond: The very next day after the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission released new data regarding the individuals purchasing electoral bonds and the electoral bonds encashed by political parties. This new data has been uploaded by the Election Commission on the official website of EC. The Election Commission had earlier submitted the data on electoral bonds purchased in sealed covers to the Supreme Court on April 12, 2019. The newly released data is likely to include electoral bonds purchased before April 2019.

The poll panel said political parties submitted the electoral bond data in sealed envelopes in compliance with the interim order of the Supreme Court from April 12, 2019.

Following the Supreme Court's direction on March 15, 2024, the court registry returned the physical copies and a digitized record on a pen drive in a sealed cover. The statement said that the Election Commission has now uploaded this digital data on its website for public access.

Key findings from ECI electoral bond data
• Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) encashed electoral bonds amounting to ₹6,986.5 crore, with the highest amount of ₹2,555 crore received in the financial year 2019-20.
• Congress encashed a total of ₹1,334.35 crore through electoral bonds.
• Biju Janata Dal (BJD) encashed electoral bonds worth ₹944.5 crore, YSR Congress ₹442.8 crore and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ₹181.35 crore.
